One of my favorite animals, I doubt I’ll ever get to Africa. This Zoo animal lives in a nice compound, and he’ll live a long life, but I wish he were roaming the African landscape, free and wild.
Resting Tiger
I have such mixed feelings about zoo animals. I think of how this beautiful animal would love to be free and in his native environment. But, on the other hand, zoos help preserve the species. At least this tiger has a beautiful, large compound, with a pool built just for tigers.
Delicate Arch
Delicate Arch in Utah is hauntingly beautiful, especially at sunset when there are clouds, but if you go, be ready for a tough hike! Take a tripod but only the one camera and lens, unless you are big and strong, which I am not. But when you get there, it is worth it.
California Redwoods
I love to walk among the Redwoods. The quietness of the forest makes me think those old trees have wisdom and they know I’m there. The beauty, the wonderful forest smell, the colors – all call to a person who loves nature.
Crown King, AZ, continues to fight fire
These two shots show the Crown King water reservoir. Crown King is burning now so I don’t know what this area looks like. It’s beautiful there, or was, but Arizona is dry and fires are burning. We need natural fires of course and when one lives in wooded areas this is what can happen. But I hope the small town survives at least. The town has been evacuated. I hope to get back there this summer.
A Few More From White Pocket
My friend sets up his tripod in the distance, in the cold night.
Last flower of the season in late fall.
